About the Ski Resort

Tignes is one of France’s most popular ski resorts, situated between Les Arcs and Val d’Isère. It offers superb skiing with over 300km of piste, including some incredible off-piste runs with free-style and boarding parks in the ski area. There is local transport including 24-hour buses with free fares between Val Claret, Le Lac, Lavachet, and Les-Brevieres.

Tignes has some challenging terrain, as well as intermediate and beginner runs. The easier runs are found on the less adventurous slopes leading down to Tignes-Les-Brevieres, which is linked to the other villages by gondola.

One of the biggest appeals of staying in Tignes is the access to Espace Killy’s highest region, the Grande Motte glacier. The funicular Grand Motte and cable car lift you from Tignes Val Claret to a height of 11,328 feet / 3453 meters above sea level.

Restaurants and Bars

Tignes has three nightclubs all with a unique atmosphere. Le Lac’s Caves du Loop offers late-night dancing, with a more upmarket feel than the other venues. It hosts regular happy hours and live bands that play funk, soul, and upbeat tunes into the early hours.

The Couloir Bar & Restaurant serves lunch and dinner daily with an appetizing brunch on the weekends. It offers an international menu with live music for après.

For excellent views and fantastic food, Le Panoramic is a popular stop for lunch located at the top of the Funicular on the Grande Motte glacier.

Skiing in the Resort and Area

Skiing in Tignes and the local alps has a lot to offer its visitors and is one of the most iconic ski resorts. Tignes is a great destination for skiers and snowboarders of all levels and skills. It is also considered a paradise for freeriding.
